Crossroads

Crossroads

In 2007 me and my brother went on a roadtrip across the states. We were driving through the streets of San Francisco one night when we arrived at a crossroads where all the streetlights had blown out. On the other side of the junction we could see the silhouette of what we assumed to be a cyclist. We waited for them to go but they didn’t move. So we pulled away. As our headlights fell on the silhouette we realised it was actually an old woman sat in a wheelchair in the middle of the road, looking right at us. In hindsight we should have stopped to see if she was okay, or at the very least have gotten her out of the road. But I’m ashamed to say that we simply drove on. We seemed to be in a fairly rough area of the city, and the whole scene had unnerved us. It was like something out of a horror movie. The whole experience got me thinking. Who was this woman? What was she doing there and how had she ended up there? This was the birth of “Crossroads”, a song about those who slip through the cracks in our society and are left behind, and about how we’re all complicit in this. Myself included. - MC Willybobz

Sound-wise, Crossroads is a pounding Drum & Bass banger with Gamma Rave’s signature screaming synths and growling guitar riffs. The song makes a few ballsy, unconventional manoeuvres, but we’ll let you discover that for yourselves. No need to spoil the surprise.
